Regina's Magic Mushroom Garden: Spotted Mathilda

Paper Piecing pattern for 12x12 and 15x15 cm blocks (exclusive of borders).

Spotted Mathilda

For this project I have created blocks especially suited for beginners as they consist of only one or two segments. One little sewing trick I couldn't let go, though - you will meet it this time when sewing Spotted Mathilda. To integrate the little mushroom inside the block you will sew it first and then use it like a piece of fabric. This is a neat trick to complement a given pattern with an extra motif or to insert a decoration. The how-to is described on the Spotted Mathilda pattern pages.

Now all Magic Mushrooms are planted. Next time I will give you two opportunities on how to complete the top with borders.

Make sure your printer's scaling option is set to "none" to print the correct size.

Mushroom Garden

You can chose from 2 different sizes for the center section, 40x48 cm and 50x60 cm. All measurements will be in centimeters.

Border designs will be given for both sizes. You can find the layout and estimated fabric requirements in the mushroomgarden.pdf. This information is only a guideline, though, and there may be few changes. So it's not a good idea to cut everything right at the start ...

EQ6 users will find the layouts in the sketchbook of crag_cap.pj6.

If you have used one of my patterns in a quilt or other item, why don't you send me a picture for the guest gallery?
