Blue Crane

Paper Piecing Pattern 29 x 29 cm block plus 10 cm wide border

The proud Blue Crane is living in South Africa. A tall bird, which would reach my hip, with wings, wider than I can spread the arms. Actually, it has gray plumage, but under certain lighting conditions it is shimmering blue.

The design was developed by special request of some South African quilters. I added a border in the colors and shapes of the South African national flag.
